Dr. Cosgrove is a board certified adult psychiatrist based on Long Island and is one of a small number of reproductive psychiatrists nationally. She has extensive training and experience working with women throughout their reproductive lifespan including during pregnancy, postpartum period as well as during the transition to menopause. She utilizes a comprehensive approach to treatment and strongly believes in the utilization of psychotherapy to reduce distress and regain functioning. She works to help identify and change maladaptive patterns and coping skills in the present while also working to understand how the past influences our current difficulties. She advocates for the reduction of polypharmacy, sustainable lifestyle interventions, and mindful use of medication when appropriate.
